Steps Beyond Remediation, Inc. as a unique organization whose purpose is to provide advocacy and awareness of the cognitive and non-cognitive factors that hinder the progress of mature students. Critical thinking, self-advocacy, networking, and leadership are valuable skills and experiences that will be gained by most participants; these are “soft” skills required for workplace success. Our intent is to offer life lessons beyond one’s current reality of remedial education, and to instill core values, such as determination and perseverance. As noted above, we are also unique in that our programs focus on the convergence of the village, culture, faith, and family to empower, strengthen, inspire, and educate.
